Indiana Jones has a new arch nemesis, Soviet Union Agent Irina Spalko, played by Cate Blanchett, and on May 22nd the fans of the popular Indiana Jones trilogy will get to see their hero in his long awaited return. Of course, not without an evil-doer in his way. Irina Spalko has quite a mission ahead of her and with a wardrobe consisting of what looks to be a grey jumpsuit of sorts, paired with black leather gloves and a blunt short hair cut, this character’s appearance is a far cry from Blanchett’s red carpet ensembles.

Blanchett has been an acting installment since she graduated from Australia’s National Institute of Dramatic Art in 1992. Since then we’ve watched her evolve into a red carpet genius, donning outfits – sometimes while very pregnant - by couture designers galore. She has said, “You can’t please everyone, but hopefully you’ll surprise people,” and we can tell she takes that fashion philosophy to heart, since we are always eagerly awaiting her arrivals on the red carpet.
