John Hardy Kali Collection Sterling Silver BraceletTalk about dedication to the earth. I’ve seen An Inconvenient Truth and The 11th Hour (which by the way, made me feel soooo sad for the human race), but John Hardy takes it to a unique level. I would never think that a high end jewelry designer would live or work in an environment as simplified as his. We’re talking about producing jewelry in the middle of a rice field! Ok, seriously though, I want to see this for myself. According to his website, the site where they work has buildings made of bamboo, an old Balinese community hall and land that grows food to feed his employees, over 700 of them. To top it off, Hardy has created a line of bamboo-inspired silver jewelry and its proceeds go towards planting bamboo.

But what I love about John Hardy is this Sterling Silver Bracelet from the Kali collection, mostly because like most of Hardy’s other pieces, it is simply designed and perfect for all occasions. The river stone design is one of his signature styles. Hardy is known as a master silver jewelry designer, potentially the largest in the United States. The fact that he takes into consideration his work’s impact on the earth is definitely a plus. If you buy a John Hardy piece, you can sleep soundly at night, knowing you contributed to a company that hasn’t folded to the Earth-suffering capitalist corporation practices of most American companies.
