Since 1980, Hublot has advanced the concept of watch making, and their rubber straps have really become a hallmark look of the brand. Their look is one of “fusion”; that being the fusion of unusual materials. In the case of the Big Bang seen here, it is the fusion of rose gold and black rubber. While Hublot began putting rubber straps on formal watches back in 1980, it is the Big Bang model, which launched in 2005, that has become the symbol of the brand’s renaissance. Personally, I love the marriage between complicated Swiss watch making, and modern, sporty rubber. Rubber straps have come a long way since the calculator watch!
