Zenith Defy Classic Power Reserve Elite watch

There can be little question that the modern Zenith Defy Xtreme watch collection is pretty polarizing. These watches are certainly intended to be statements of fashion, and for those who prefer classic designs, this philosophy is jarring. Ok, I admit it: I am pretty squarely in this camp, so accepting some of these far out Zenith watches has been challenging for me.

With that as my preamble, I will say that the somewhat more restrained Defy Classic watch collection is much more to my liking, and I would recommend it as a worthy choice for the watch connoisseur who is looking for a fine sports watch with a Manufacture heritage. The sizes of these watches are large enough to be impressive, without veering to the gargantuan, and the detailing–be it the dial work, or the case and bracelet–is commendable. These watches are also water resistant to 300 meters, making them very well suited for vigorous use, regardless of how much water may be in the equation.

Those who appreciate maximal “cleanliness” in their watches will likely find much to admire in the Zenith Defy Classic Power Reserve Elite watch (pictured above), while chronograph fans should find the Defy Classic Chrono Aero watch to be excellent–with its exclusive Zenith El Primero movement and highly technical appearance, this is surely one of the more attractive Zenith sports chronographs of recent times. The diversity of dials, strap/bracelet options, and metal combinations is a big plus, too.
