The Anonimo Militare Crono watch is one of the most distinctive mechanical chronograph timepieces out there today. Its also a great example of the idiosyncratic design that has earned Anonimo watches a real cult following.
It’s neat that Anonimo has employed a Debois-Depraz modified variant of the ETA Chronograph movement that relocates the crown to six o’clock, and the pushbuttons to the left side of the watch. Not only distinctive in appearance, these aspects are rooted in functionality. Assuming the watch is worn on the left wrist, the buttons are less exposed to shocks and thumps that might occur otherwise. The protected crown takes a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, you find that operating it with the thumb is actually quite intuitive!
Like all Anonimo watches , the Militare Crono features the case design that has become a signature of this brand. Proudly crafted one at a time, each case is scooped out on a lathe, rather than stamped, as is usually done with the majority of cases you see in the watch industry.
