IWC Aquatimer Split Minute Chronograph watch
The IWC Aquatimer watch collection offers some of the most interesting and distinctive luxury dive timepieces available today.  Not “me too” sports watches by any means, these watches radiate the IWC virtues of strong mechanical fascination, masculine design, and innovative engineering elements–the bracelet alone is a true work of art, wedding strength and craftsmanship to an ingenious link removal system.

While each model in the collection has its own appeal, the IWC Aquatimer Split Minute Chronograph is the natural choice for those desiring the most cutting edge mechanical technology.  Like its stablemates, this IWC diver’s watch has the characteristic internal rotating unidirectional bezel, which of course works well for calculating overall diving time.  However, an absolutely unique split-minute flyback hand gives you additional utility–press the rocker switch on the left side of the case and a luminous hand (which ordinarily travels beneath the minute hand) stays behind, allowing you to mark off a separate interval, such as a decompression stop or an ascent to the surface. (Pressing the switch again, causes the split-minute hand to fly back to its ordinary hidden position.)

Naturally, the Split Minute Chronograph offers typical chronograph utility as well, and these functions may also be operated safely underwater without risking moisture infiltration.  This is yet another detail which demonstrates IWC’s passion for uncompromising technical solutions.
