Soon you will be able to order your own sidedish of Dreamy - McDreamy, that is.

Award-winning actor Patrick Dempsey, who plays Dr. McDreamy on the TV drama series Grey’s Anatomy, has been signed to a multi-year contract with Avon Products, Inc. to be the face of a men’s fragrance set to be launch this fall.

Details regarding the fragrance have not been released nor have the terms of the contract. However, sources estimate that he could receive between $5 and $6 million over the course of the three years. Driving the fragrance will be a powerful multi-media ad campaign.

As if being the spokesperson was not enough, Patrick Dempsey will also be the creative director of the Avon fragrance, says global president of Avon Strategic Alliances and Mark Claudia Poccia. Jillian Dempsey, Patrick’s wife, has been Avon’s global creative color director since 2006 - can anyone say “connections” ? Of course, Patrick Dempsey is a sure fire hot bet for a men’s fragrance - who wouldn’t want to sign him to a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract?

Avon’s use of celebrity and designer products has greatly benefitted the company. “The business is growing. The focus on celebrities and alliances has been working and is building momentum,” said Andrea Jung, chairman and chief executive officer. A partial list of known names who have collaborated with Avon include Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Hudson, Lauren Conrad, Christian Lacroix and Cynthia Rowley.

Now, Avon adds Grey’s Anatomys’ Dr. McDreamy Patrick Dempsey to their star-studded line-up. With Patrick Dempsey as the new face of the fragrance, life is surely but a dream for Avon.
