Posted on April 25th, 2008 No comments
One of the coolest Panerai watches to debut this year has to be the limited edition Luminor 1950 Pangaea Submersible Depth Gauge model. The combination of a mechanical movement with a high-tech electronic depth gauge makes this watch unique, and really underscores the heritage of Panerai as a maker of really serious dive instruments. You might say this is the ultimate modern Panerai dive watch.

Breguet High Jewellery Les Plumes Ring
Posted on April 25th, 2008 No comments
Introduced at Baselworld 2008, this High Jewellery Les Plumes ring from Breguet’s new women’s jewelry collection is amazing. Set in 18k white gold and accented with pave diamonds totaling 3.70 carats, the pink oval cut sapphire takes center stage. Approximately 2.50 carats of pink sapphire shines on the Les Plumes ring and is surrounded by VVS diamonds in a layered feather design, gently nesting the gorgeous sapphire. This is a breathtaking piece, even in sketch form, I can imagine it being as dramatic and stunning as ever in reality. Continue Reading… » -

John Hardy Kul Kul School

Since selling his stake in the John Hardy jewelry company, John Hardy and his wife and business partner Cynthia continue to stay busy and fully committed to their green initiatives. John Hardy sold his internationally recognized luxury jewelry brand to his former president Damien Dernoncourt and the name of the brand, which Hardy acknowledges as being the heart, power and influence of the company. John and Cynthia will continue to be involved with their former jewelry company until 2016.Their next collaborative adventure has been the foundation of a green school for nursery age through 8th grade called Kul Kul School in Bali near Ubud dedicated to the holistic education to children in a sustainable environment. The school offers mainstream education as well as learning within a curriculum that focuses on educating the whole child including rational intelligence, emotional intelligence, spiritual intelligence and kinesthetic intelligence. In addition, the Kul Kul campus includes the Learning Village offering opportunities to learn specific disciplines and crafts such as manufacturing (learn to make chocolate and palm sugar), bamboo construction and organic farming and management of bamboo plantations and rice paddies. The school does not specifically mention offfering jewelry-making classes but how could they not? As if this was wondrous enough, the campus has family housing so you could move your family there and everyone could be a student for a year or for the summer with their future Summer Programs.
John and Cynthia Hardy have future plans to found an international boarding high school which as of now is slated for a 2010 opening.

Hearts on Fire Ring on the Ellen Degeneres Show
Posted on April 25th, 2008 No commentsHearts on Fire was part of a very special moment on the Ellen Degeneres Show this Valentine’s Day.
On the show, Chief Warrant Officer Lee Simpson, who is currently stationed at Camp Taqadum with the Marines in Iraq, joined the show live via satellite and asked his girlfriend, Niala Hay, who was there just to watch the show (or so she thought), to marry him. It was shortly before 4 a.m. on Valentine’s Day Iraq time. Continue Reading… »
