The Chopard L.U.C Chrono One Flyback is one of the most highly awaited luxury chronographs to hit the market. Directly squared off against such prestigious competition as the Patek Philippe Ref. 5960P and the A. Lange & Sohne Datograph, the Chrono One lives up to the uncompromising standards of haute horlogerie that Chopard’s manufacture L.U.C collection is known for. Offered in a limited edition pre-release in 2006, the watch will now be made more widely available in versions in white or rose gold.
An all around piece of brilliant luxury watchmaking the Chopard Chrono One Flyback watch unites provocative design, beautiful craftsmanship, and true manufacture exclusivity (even the cases are made in-house by Chopard, from alloys developed by them!).
Horologically, the chronograph movement is outstanding from both aesthetic and mechanical perspectives. The Calibre L.U.C 11CF has three unique technical elements that Chopard has sought to protect with patents–a unique automatic-wind system with a unidirectional gear that regulates winding speed, a reset function governed by hammers that cushions chronograph reset, and a “small seconds” reset that facilitates precision setting of the time. Significantly, the chronograph mechanism is fully integrated (as opposed to the more common modular construction), and controlled by a column wheel—a characteristic synonymous with the best chronographs.
With the Chrono One Flyback, Chopard just continues to add to its impressive list of strengths as a premier luxury watch manufacturer.
