The Breguet Classique Power Reserve Moonphase watch is another masterpiece from this great watchmaking house, one which asserts their ability of the house of Breguet to join elegance with unmistakable presence. The magnificent art of the guillocheur, a feature so prominent in many Breguet watches, again presents itself here, which is both a study in itself, as well as a highlight to the mechanical fascination of the displays that lie beneath it. The moonphase is simply charming, and the fact that it appears at 2:00 makes it rather unusual–of course, this is exactly what Abraham-Louis Breguet’s original watches were often known for (strikingly unusual displays that diverged from that presented by most watchmakers).
I commend the watchmakers at Montres Breguet on their ability to summon the spirit of the legendary watchmaker whose name appears on the dial. Breguet watches today, as in the past, conjure up a unique magic that continues to defy adequate description.
