Jaquet Droz has taken a bold step into the sports watch arena with its Grande Second SUW watch.  Far more casual than any Jaquet Droz watch that has come before it, the SUW should be an outstanding choice for anyone seeking a sporty timepiece with exceptionally fine detailing, and an aura of true rarity.

I am drawn to the way that this Jaquet Droz watch merges dynamic and classically restrained elements; the 45mm case is striking, with its notched bezel, and protrusions–yet, it is clearly a development of the brand’s more traditional models.  The superbly crafted black dial shares much with the beloved Grande Seconde watch, but is spiced with accents of orange. 

I would call the Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde SUW watch one of the most beautiful high luxury sports timepieces of 2008–it maintains the reputation of this brand for producing exclusive watches which offer uniquely beautiful craftsmanship and diverge from the heavily beaten path of mass production.
