It’s amazing how well suited certain metals are for a specific watch model. A perfect example is the stunning IWC Portuguese Tourbillon Mystère in 5N 18K rose gold. The combination of that deep, (nearly red) shade of rose gold with the slate gray dial is gorgeous, and exudes a decidedly powerful aura of luxury. After 2007’s Baselworld luminaries–the GMT-Master II “Ceramic” and the Milgauss –the Rolex faithful were eagerly awaiting what the super-secretive Geneva powerhouse would reveal for 2008. Cannes is in full swing and festival attendees were in for a real treat – the premiere of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The film has been kept under heavy security and even when 300 production photos were stolen from production offices, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas were able to keep the movie’s secrets under wraps. Marking Spielberg’s first return to Cannes since E.T., the event was indeed a special one. Harrison Ford attended the premiere with Calista Flockhart on his arm. Flockhart wore a vibrant blue one shoulder gown from Marchesa, accessorized by Lorraine Schwartz earrings and a black clutch from Daniel Swarovski’s Red Carpet Collection.
