It’s amazing how well suited certain metals are for a specific watch model. A perfect example is the stunning IWC Portuguese Tourbillon Mystère in 5N 18K rose gold. The combination of that deep, (nearly red) shade of rose gold with the slate gray dial is gorgeous, and exudes a decidedly powerful aura of luxury. This watch is certainly beautiful in white gold, but if you want presence–this newly added variation is the one to get!
As always, the flying tourbillon looks marvelous–the 12 o’clock location is ideal for those who understand that the tourbillon, nowadays, is there for its show appeal more so than horological performance. With this in mind, the Tourbillon Mystère upholds the best traits a tourbillon wristwatch should have–namely, a strong technical presence–without being overly busy. Classicism reigns here, which is certainly something that to be expected from any IWC watch from the Portuguese collection.
