Ulysse Nardin fans, and fans of the brand’s Marine Collection in particular, were no doubt pleased to see a chronograph join the sporty line this year.  Certainly the most boldly styled watch in its family, the new Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver Chronograph stands out with black titanium elements on the chronograph pushers and winding crown, and a rubber-accented bezel. 

I particularly enjoy the dials of these Ulysse Nardin watches, which have a very distinctive sports-oriented look, thanks to the chronograph subdials with their raised figures; this adds a great deal of visual fascination, and brings out the technical appeal of the chronograph indicators.

While each reference has its charms, my favorite Maxi Marine Diver Chronograph variant is the pictured stainless steel watch with rubber strap, black dial, and red and black graduated bezel.  The combination of gleaming steel, complex textures and bright colors really make this variant “pop”.  It is the most purely sports-themed of the various references, and has a dynamic appearance that really suits the theme of the Ulysse Nardin Marine Collection.�
