The svelte tonneau form of Glashutte Original’s Senator Karree Automatic watch makes it extremely well suited for women eager to escape the “tiny watch” concept of traditional ladies timepieces. Displaying well balanced mid-sized 30 X 34.5mm dimensions and some very elegant detailing, the Karree Automatic can serve equally well for formal business attire or casually refined everyday wear. • DeWitt Academia Perpetual Calendar Nebula Watch: Unique Displays And A Beautiful Moonphase

Posted on September 26th, 2008 Adam Keith No comments

With the introduction of its new Academia “Nebula” watch, elite Swiss watch brand DeWitt has provided a striking re-interpretation of the traditional perpetual calendar display. Rather than uniting displays for day date month and leap year in the classic 3,6,9 arrangement, or even utilizing retrograde displays as it its own Academia Perpetual Calendar watch, DeWitt has given each function its own subdial, and created a V-shaped layout that is as attractive as it is unusual. • Tina Fey – Looks and Laughter at the Emmys

Posted on September 22nd, 2008 crystal No comments

What an incredible Emmy night for Tina Fey, creator, star, writer and executive producer of NBC’s hit comedy 30 Rock. Winning Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series at the 60th Annual Emmy Awards was only one of Fey’s feats last night. As a writer for the show, Fey also won for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series and the show itself won several Emmys of its record 17 nominations – among them, a second consecutive win for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m Quantum Of Solace Limited Edition

The Omega Seamaster Watch is almost as much of a star of the new generation James Bond movies as Mr. Daniel Craig himself. Right up there with the Aston Martin car and the Walther PPK pistol, this Omega diver’s timepiece has become inseparable from the image–and technical arsenal–of the world’s most famous spy. Ebel’s newest addition to the Beluga collection, the Beluga Caviar can honestly be described as a sight for sore eyes. • Girard-Perregaux Sea Hawk II Pro: A Standout Among Deep-Sea Diving Watches

Posted on September 12th, 2008 Adam Keith 2 comments

Girard-Perregaux Seahawk II ProIn the category of depth-defying dive watches, Rolex’s new Sea-Dweller Deepsea has justifiably gotten a lot of coverage.  But, the SDDS by no means the only insanely qualified super professional dive watch.  Another great timepiece in this specialized genre is the Girard-Perregaux Sea Hawk II Pro.

A far more extreme version of the brand’s appealing Sea Hawk watch (itself water resistant to 300 meters), the Sea Hawk II Pro has been engineered to Continue Reading… »

  • Louis Vuitton Tambour Tourbillon Watch: Taking High Luxury Into The Bespoke Realm

Posted on September 8th, 2008 Adam Keith No comments

Louis Vuitton Tambour TourbillonA Louis Vuitton Tourbillon watch?  Why not.  Even the celebrated maker of luxurious and ultra-trendy luggage has taken a sojourn into haute horlogerie with the 2005 introduction of their Tambour Tourbillon.

My admitted skepticism about Louis Vuitton not being a “real watchmaker” aside, the Tambour Tourbillon is actually quite an appealing design, with its sapphire bridges, floral themed design elements (look closely at the mainspring barrel, the tourbillon cage, and the engraved design on the sapphire bridge) and its pleasingly modest case design with an octagonal winding crown.

    Ultimately though, Continue Reading… »

  • Concord C1 Watch Collection Gains Hot New Models For Fall 2008

Posted on September 8th, 2008 Adam Keith No comments

Concord C1 Tourbillon GravityThe Concord C1 watch collection is going to be getting some new additions shortly.  I hesitate to say “bold new additions”, because well…all the C1 timepieces fit that definition.  In a short time, they have defined a dynamic new brand image for Concord, taking it from being a highly respected but slighty stodgy “old man’s watch”, to something youthful, strikingly contemporary, and extremely desirable.

  • Edward Norton’s Newest Role: Breil Milano Watch Ambassador

Posted on September 8th, 2008 Adam Keith 3 comments

Edward NortonCritically acclaimed actor and Academy Award-nominee Edward Norton has appeared in some new press photographs, but they aren’t for an upcoming new film.  No, it seems the versatile Norton has become the latest face to represent the Breil Milano watch brand.  A series of photos, shot by Jean-Baptiste Mondino, show a casually elegant Norton in a range of standard wristwatch-sporting poses (including the ever-popular “hand by the chin” photo which nearly every watch brand seems to favor for its brand ambassadors), with several different Breil Milano timepieces.

Breil Milano, as a fashion-oriented watch brand, has a natural affinity with Hollywood Continue Reading… »
