Ulysse Nardin Lady Diver Starry Night Watch
Posted on September 11th, 2009 No comments
A beautiful addition to the Ulysse Nardin Lady Diver watch collection is the Lady Diver Starry Night. Few of the dreamy names given to luxury wristwatches are as apt as this one, and when you look at the dial, it’s very clear indeed–just like a beautiful night sky! In this instance, the “sky” is soleil-finished metal or white mother of pearl dial and the twinkling stars are 27 round brilliant diamonds set in a free-form pattern all around it. Ulysse Nardin Black Ocean Watch: Super-Stealthy Maxi Marine Diver Limited Edition
Posted on August 31st, 2009 No comments
When a timepiece gets an exciting (and slightly ominous) name like “Black Ocean”, how can you not be at least a little curious? I’m referring to one of the hottest new limited edition variations of the Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver. UN’s 200-meter rated dive watch with crown guards, a massive screw-down winding crown, and a beautiful wave dial that borrows charm from the 1846 Chronometer has worked its charms on many a lover of luxury watches, and the addition of a number of colorful variants has only added fuel to the fire. With stealthy all-black sports watches being incredibly hot right now (witness the number of custom PVD-coated Rolex models that have surfaced) it was only a matter of time before Ulysse Nardin entered the fray. Ulysse Nardin Perpetual Diver Limited Edition Watch Thoughts
Posted on June 5th, 2009 No comments
Check out this candid shot of this rare watch on my wrist. At first glance the Ulysse Nardin Perpetual Diver Limited Edition watch might as well be an Oris or any other midrange diving watch. The bright orange colors, sporty but mainstream font for the numerals, and carbon fiber face make it look like just another nice watch in the crowd. Upon closer inspection you realize that the watch is no basic Swiss watch, but instead an Ulysse Nardin, and look closer to see that the various windows reveal a perpetual calendar complication. There are a few, but not many mechanical luxury perpetual calendar diver watches, and this timepiece joins a small club. Continue Reading… » -

Some time ago, images of Russian president Dmitry Medvedev wearing a yellow gold Breguet Classique moonphase watch lit up the luxury blogosphere. Pundits pontificated upon how Medvedev, who apparently earns quite a modest salary, acquired the funds to purchase such a high-stepping example of haute horlogerie. Well, buckle your seatbelts, because the photo here will surely rekindle the electronic chitter-chatter. Peeking out from the cuffs of Mr. Medvedev’s black suit this time is one of the world’s finest luxury dive watches–the lovely, limited edition Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver in 18K white gold. Posted on March 28th, 2009 No comments
The Ulysse Nardin Moonstruck watch is easily one of the most impressive debuts at the 2009 Baselworld exhibition. Sharing a bit of the “DNA” of the brilliant Tellurium Johannes Kepler watch from the famous Ulysse Nardin Trilogy of Time, the new Moonstruck again brings to the forefront a variety of innovative and breathtaking astronomic functions. In envisioning this masterpiece for Ulysse Nardin, the ever-ingenious Ludwig Oeschlin sought a wristwatch that expressed the influence of both Sun and Moon over the Earth. Continue Reading… » -

Few luxury watches make so consistently strong an impression over such a diverse selection of metals and dial combinations as does Ulysse Nardin’s Maxi Marine Diver . Rose gold, stainless steel? Now, in 2009 the wundermetall titanium opens yet another dimension within this superb collection of diving timepieces. Continue Reading… » -

Ulysse Nardin fans, and fans of the brand’s Marine Collection in particular, were no doubt pleased to see a chronograph join the sporty line this year.
