John Hardy arrived in Bali in 1975 and has been creating jewelry, in silver and gold, inspired by the Balinese nature ever since. When he first arrived, he studied silver-smith techniques under the master Balinese craftsmen, some of whom were descendants of the artisans for the Balinese royalty. While John Hardy made a name for himself with his sterling silver jewelry, he also creates pieces in gold with diamonds and gemstones.
