CONCOURS SCORES AGAIN!

The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is the premier car show during Classic Car week - and for good reason. The overall quality of the autos exhibited here are simply amazing. Cars from decades past are seen looking like they have just been driven off the lot.

Former Microsoft President and COO John Shirley walked away with the "Best of Show" prize with his 1938 Alfa Romeo. Only 33 of these amazing cars were ever produces and this one showed up to take the top prize. Shirley wasn't the only well known individual to show up at the Concours d'Elegance this year, Jay Leno was also in attendance showcasing his 1953 Chrysler Tank Car which sported a whopping 20 liter engine.

Aside from the competition, one of the best highlights of the show was seeing Porsche Number One. This awe inspiring piece of automotive history captured the attention of everyone that walked past it.

In showroom condition, this car was probably the most gawked at car in the entire show. Fan's of yesteryears racing movies were also intrigued to see the vintage auto transporter that was in the famous Steve McQueen Movie "Le Mans".

One other notable mention was the prototype of the 250 GT California Ferrari which caused a bit of a commotion on the fairway. This historic automobile captured the attention of every "Ferris Buller" loving Generation X attendee at the show.

At the end of the day the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance was a worthwhile event for auto enthusiasts as well as charities who received over 1 million dollars from the events proceeds.
