Basel 2008: Dior Christal Tourbillon Watch Dior has introduced its first tourbillon wristwatch, a stunning creation which reveals the brands intention to unite fashion with the twin arts of high watchmaking and exceptional jewelry.  The Dior Christal Tourbillon features a case and bracelet crafted in 18K white gold; both elements feature the striking contrast of black sapphire crystals with baguette-cut diamonds.  54 of these diamonds adorn the unidirectional bezel, while another 44 are set into the central bracelet links.

Additionally, a single rose-cut diamond adorns the white gold crown. In all, 15.82 carats (tw) of diamonds grace this precious timepiece.  Case diameter is 42mm, and the overall gold weight amounts to 222 grams.

The manual winding tourbillon movement contains a number of striking aesthetic details, not the least of which are bridges in sapphire crystal and white gold, the latter featuring set baguette diamonds. The tourbillon carriage is mounted on a black sapphire, and completes a single revolution each minute.  Power reserve of the movement is approximately 80 hours.  Much of the movement's intricate mechanical structure is visible from the dial side, thanks to the sapphire crystals and the 12 transparent indexes.

The Dior Christal Tourbillon watch is produced in an extremely exclusive series of 10 pieces, worldwide.  The caseback is engraved with the individual number.
