Anonimo Watches Celebrate 10th Anniversary

In 2008, the Anonimo watch company attains its 10th year. The brand, founded by Federico Massacesi, in Florence, Italy has gained many fans who appreciate Anonimo's dedication to creating unusual sporty watch designs realized with a distinctive Italianate flair. Much of this is due to the meticulous nature of the founder himself; a long-time employee of Salvatore Ferregamo SpA, Massacesi was infected with a passion for authentic Florentine design and craftsmanship. He turned his vision to the idea of creating watches which reflected the traditions of Florence. When the famous Florentine-based brand Panerai was acquired by Richemont, a team of that brand's skilled employees who wished to stay in Florence and continue their tradition, happily coalesced with Massacesi, and the Anonimo brand was born. Since then, Anonimo has become synonymous with authentic Florentine watchmaking, and is associated with a variety of innovations. These include the remarkable "Kodiak" water resistant strap treatment process, and a U-lock System which enhances the extremely high water resistance of the brand's Professionale timepieces.


For the 10th Anniversary, Anonimo will present 10 new timepieces, with limited edition inscriptions on their dials. Although not all of these limited edition Anonimo watches will be announced until the opening of Basel, the brand has indicated that the popular Pelluce Bronze watch with the orange dial, and the Pelluce Bronze black dial--both unique due to their cases made from bronze--will be among this group. Like all Anonimo watches, these models will feature Swiss ETA movements of the highest quality.


Anonimo watches are distinguished by their smoothly crafted cases, which are unique in the manner they are manufactured. Rather than being stamped, as is typical in case manufacture, each Anonimo watch case is individually turned. This unique process emphasizes the small scale of Anonimo manufacture, and the investiture of an irreplaceable human element in the manufacture of each. Anonimo is deeply proud of this artisanal dedication, and it is a highlight of the brand's 10th Anniversary celebrations.
