Exceptional antique Audemars Piguet pocket watches will play a part in the Teddy Chan-directed movie "Bodyguards and Assassins", adding some additional historical authenticity to the turn of the 20th century events the film depicts. Martin Werhli, Director of the Audemars Piguet Museum, chose some particularly fine examples from the museum's collection and shipped them to Hong Kong where shooting was taking place.
Wolfgang Sickenberg and David von Gunten of Audemars Piguet Hong Kong, along with Ms. Karen Yong, Regional Marketing Manager for Audemars Piguet toured the elaborate set and made a special presentation of the gold pocket watches to Bodyguards and Assassins producer Peter Chan. Mr. Chan expressed his gratitude and delight with the loan of the historical Audemars Piguet pocket watches, and expressed his view that they would indeed add to the authentic flavor of the movie, which centers around a fictional assassination attempt on the life of Chinese revolutionary Sun Yat-sen. Filming is being undertaken in Shanghai, on an expansive, no-expenses-spared set that effectively duplicates the architecture and feel of 1905-era Hong Kong.
