The Venetian art of Goldfluss--glass infused with sparkling gold or silver inclusions--distinguishes the elegant secondary timezone display of DeWitt's Academia Double Fuseau GMT2 Poetic watch.  As always, the signature design elements pioneered by Montres DeWitt result in a superlative luxury timepiece that epitomizes traditional craftsmanship yet demonstrates avant garde creativity.  

Presented in 18-karat rose or white gold, the breathtakingly intricate case measures 43 millimeters in diameter, and 12 millimeters in height. Its alluring structure of "columns" alternating brushed and polished elements is shared by the distinctive gold winding crown.   The soul of the DeWitt Academia Double Fuseau GMT2 Poetic watch, however, is expressed in the lustrous black guilloche dial.  Applied polished gold elements present the Roman numeral hours, the minute track, and draw the eye to the charming depiction of the globe at 12 o'clock.  This miniature replica of earth--complete with depictions of the continents and oceans--is crafted from blued steel and stands out against the scintillating goldfluss background whose appearance mimics the sparkling stars in the night sky.  Pressing the pusher at the left side of the case advances the primary hour hand; during this operation, the red hour hand keeps track of time in the home locale.  The globe rotates incrementally in the counter-clockwise direction during advances of the hour hand, providing a clear indication of the proper day/night orientation in the location to where the watch's wearer is bound.  

The DeWitt Academia Double Fuseau GMT2 Poetic watch is animated by the self-winding DW 2002 caliber, whose basic technical features include 21 jewels, a power reserve of 42 hours and a glucydur balance vibrating at a rapid pace of 28,800 alternations per hour.   Meticulously decorated by the artisans of the house, the DW 2002 resides securely behind a massive 18K gold back securely fastened down with screws.  

DeWitt will produce a limited series of the Academia Double Fuseau GMT2 Poetic timepiece.  Whether in rose or white gold, each watch is fitted with a flat sapphire crystal, and a hand-stitched alligator strap equipped with an luxurious 18K folding clasp.  Water resistance is rated for 30 meters.
