Swiss watch manufacture Zenith has unveiled a new addition to its Class collection that offers for the first time a 12-hour alarm complication in combination with the legendary El Primero chronograph mechanism.  The result is an elegant and technically impressive wrist instrument that is an ideal companion for the most active global adventurers.

The Zenith Class Traveller Open Multicity Alarm watch features a 46mm case in stainless steel or 18-karat rose gold, and a gently curved sapphire crystal that has been treated on both sides with an anti-reflective coating.  The intricate dial with its aperture revealing the rapidly pulsating balance wheel is available in a choice of black or silver, both versions displaying a fine grain d'orge guilloche pattern.  Joining the familiar world time and 24-hour discs at the perimeter of the dial, are the indications related to the alarm; the alarm power reserve indicator and on/off selectors appear between the hours of 6 and 9 o'clock.  The sophisticated Zenith grande date display is prominently featured At 2 o'clock.  A supplementary skeletonized hand mounted at the center of the dial keeps track of a second timezone, in a 24-hour format.  

The mechanical movement animating the Class Traveller Open Multicity Alarm watch is designed and manufactured by Zenith.  Comprised of 439 individual components, the complex caliber showcases the aforementioned travel functions, in addition to the famous El Primero chronograph, whose ultra-rapid 36,000 vph balance frequency permits the measurement of independent time intervals to 1/10th second.  In the manner of all El Primero variations, the chronograph functions are governed by a classical column wheel.  A system of two spring barrels--one dedicated to the watch and the other to the alarm--assures ample energy to drive the mechanism.  An exhibition caseback window in synthetic sapphire reveals the intricate structures of the 4046 Open El Primero caliber, which includes a guilloched central 22-karat gold winding rotor.  

The Zenith Class Traveller Open Multicity Alarm watch is water resistant to 50 meters.  Each timepiece is fitted with an Alzavel calfskin-lined strap in alligator leather, and a triple folding buckle in 18-karat rose gold or stainless steel engraved with the Zenith star.
