Chronoswiss Chronoscope CM Watch
By Adam Keith, Associate Timepiece Editor for ViaLuxe-

The Chronoswiss Chronoscope CM watch is an attractive variation upon the mono-push chronograph which the Munich-based watchmaking house introduced in 2008.  The CM--whose title is an abbreviation of the French term "Compteur Minutes"-- indicates the function provided by a knurled rotating bezel fitted to the elegant round case.  By orienting the bezel diamond with the blued minute hand, the wearer has access to a highly visible secondary indication of elapsed time to within an hour, independent of the chronograph function.

The Chronoswiss Chronoscope CM watch features a 42.5mm case in stainless steel or 18-karat rose gold that displays strong yet elegant lugs with screwed strap bars.  A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal presents a clear view of the intricate dial with off-centered hours and subsidiary seconds aligned vertically.  Among the quartet of shimmering blued steel hands is a central chronograph hand which covers the blue tachymeter scale at the edge of the dial, and a specially designed minute hand with two distinctive tips; the first tip, with a flat section covers normal minutes, while the elongated lancine tip extends to the dial periphery to easily mark off time against the bezel scale.  Resultantly, the Chronoscope CM timepiece becomes a convenient instrument to keep track of short term appointments, long distance phone calls, or a running parking meter.

Animating the Chronoscope CM watch is the self-winding C125 caliber.  Based upon a classic Enicar movement, the C125 incorporates a traditional column wheel to control the chronograph start, stop, and return to zero sequences.  A balance beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour enables the precision timing of independent elapsed time intervals to within 1/6th second.  Power reserve of the barrel is 35 hours.  A display back in sapphire crystal reveals circular grained plates, bridges with circular graining and Cotes de Geneve, polished screws, and a skeletonized gilt rotor.

The Chronoswiss Chronoscope CM watch is water resistant to 30 meters.  Each timepiece is completed by a hand-sewn alligator strap and a buckle in 18-karat gold or stainless steel.
