Exclusive luxury watchmaker Franc Vila has shown images of a new tourbillon watch that will debut at Baselworld 2008. The Tourbillon Planetaire Skeleton SuperLigero Concept Watch features Franc Vila's characteristically unique "Esprit Unique" case design that incorporates a circular and ellipsoid bezel; according to customer preference, the case can be ordered in black titanium, 18K gold, or
stainless steel, in addition to various combinations of these materials. The case is fitted with sapphire crystals on both the front and back, and is water resistant to 100 meters.
This new Franc Vila timepiece utilizes an innovative and highly complex manually wound movement. Franc Vila FV No6 caliber incorporates a differential gear system, and a flying one-minute tourbillon crafted from "lightnium", an extremely lightweight alloy comprised of lithium and aluminum. The movement has a 5-day power reserve, the status of which is shown via a power reserve indicator at 9 o'clock.
The new Franc Vila tourbillon watch will be limited to an edition of 8 pieces.
