A strong "tacticool" aura characterizes the latest BR 01 timepieces from sports watch specialist Bell & Ross. Bestowed with the evocative name of Commando, these models emphasize stealth and zero light reflectivity through the combination of a grey powder coating on the 46mm BR stainless steel cases, and dials with an inconspicuous primer grey color scheme.
Two models have been announced, both of which are limited to editions of 500 pieces. The Bell & Ross Commando BR 01-96 presents the hours minutes and sweep seconds, in addition to a large date display adjustable through the winding crown. The BR 01-97 features a conventional date display, but offers a circular power reserve indicator to reveal the degree of operating power remaining in the spring barrel.
Both of the Bell & Ross Commando watches rely upon proven ETA base calibers which have an approximate power reserve of 42 hours. Anti-reflective flat sapphire crystals, and black superluminova-applied hands and bold hour and minute scales assure effortless comprehension of the time in any lighting condition. The distinctive dials are matched by Bell & Ross grey rubber straps and powder coated buckles. Like other Bell & Ross BR 01 models, the Commandos are water resistant to 100 meters. Straps on these models may be easily exchanged for alternatives in synthetic canvas or leather.
