Bell & Ross will officially launch its BR 01 Airborne timepieces on June 9th, 2009 at Colette, an influential fashion and style boutique on rue Saint-Honoré in Paris. The collection, which includes two diamond-set variations, will be available exclusively at Colette's for the week following the launch. Passersby enjoying the heart of the chic Parisian shopping district will find the BR 01 Airborne proudly displayed in Colette's window display, which is the store's primary facade.
The launch of the Bell & Ross BR 01 Airborne watch in Paris closely follows on the planned June 6th meeting between French President Nicolas Sarkozy and U.S. President Barack Obama to mark the 65th Anniversary of the D-Day Invasion by Allied forces in Normandy. The watch itself, debuted at Baselworld 2009, pays homage to the bravery of Allied paratroopers during World War II, particularly those of the US Airborne divisions.
