Blancpain Leman Tourbillon Split-Seconds Flyback Chronograph watch

The Blancpain Leman Tourbillon Split-Seconds Flyback Chronograph watch is a masterpiece of the watchmaking craft, combining two of the most challenging complications in the field of haute horlogerie. Within the classical lines of the Blancpain Leman watchcase, this remarkable timepiece is a tantalizing example of the rich experience possessed by the Manufacture Blancpain l over its more than two centuries of existence.

The heart of the Blancpain Leman Tourbillon Split-Seconds Flyback Chronograph watch is its exceptional movement, the selfwinding Calibre 23F9A--the assembly and fine adjustment of which is accomplished one at a time by a single Blancpain master watchmaker. Composed of 345 hand-finished pieces, and featuring a power reserve of 40 hours, the Blancpain Calibre 23F9A Calibre supports both a flying one minute tourbillon, and a column-wheel controlled chronograph with a split-second function. The split-seconds chronograph mechanism, universally accepted as the most difficult accomplishment within the repertory of the chronograph complication, allows the precise timing of two separate time intervals; by pressing the split-seconds button, the split hand (normally concealed beneath the main central chronograph hand) is immediately stopped, while the main chronograph hand continues onward; by pressing the split button again, the split hand is immediately reunited with the primary hand. This intricate mechanism, considerably more complicated (and problematical to the watchmaker) than a standard chronograph, is controlled by its own dedicated column wheel in combination with a scissors brake.

Adding to this impressive implementation, the chronograph also has a flyback function, meaning that the primary chronograph hand can be resent to zero without any requirement to first stop it. The intricacy of this mechanical masterpiece may be fully appreciated thanks to the exhibition sapphire caseback, which allows a glimpse into the complex interactions of this movements tiny components; the bridges sparkle with hand-applied Cotes de Geneve and perlage finishes, while each edge has been delicately chamfered in a technique known as "anglage".

The Blancpain Leman Tourbillon Split-Seconds Flyback Chronograph watch is extremely exclusive, and only a handful of these watches leave the studious silence of the Blancpain workshop each year. It is offered exclusively in a 38mm case, crafted from platinum, which displays flawless finishing and outstanding attention to each aesthetic detail. Presented on a Barennia leather strap with a platinum buckle with either an white or a black dial, the Blancpain Leman Tourbillon Split-Seconds Flyback Chronograph watch will delight collectors of complex and exceptional timepieces.
