The Super Trofeo racing alliance between Swiss watchmaker Blancpain and Lamborghini began on an excellent note at the season's first race on Saturday, May 16th. At the Adria racing track in Italy, Blancpain President and CEO Marc A. Hayek piloted a specially decorated Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 car, taking it to a third place finish in the second round of the race closely behind well-known Netherlands racing star Peter Kox.
Additional European legs of the Blancpain-Lamborghini Super Trofeo races will be held between June and October. Norisring, Germany will host the next race on June 26th-28th, with Belgium following on the dates of July 23rd-25th at the Spa Francorchamps. Silverstone in the United Kingdom will take place on August 15th-16th, with Catalunya in Spain following on September 18th-20th. The final races will be held at Paul Ricard in France on October 2nd-4th.
