Originally invented to overcome the negative effects of gravity upon the rate of watches held in a vertical orientation, the toubillon device--conceived more than 2 centuries ago--continues to challenge watchmakers with its intricate construction, and fascinate collectors with its beauty.

The heart of the Bvlgari Bvlgari-Bvlgari Complications Tourbillon watch is its manually wound movement, which has an impressive power reserve of 64 hours. Refined with traditional Cotes de Geneve, anglage and other hand-applied decorative techniques, this mechanism is a joy to behold, and can be admired in full through the exhibition sapphire caseback; an additional technical surprise this movement offers is a power-reserve indicator, which is integrated into the movement on the backside. The tourbillon mechanism, visible through the dial aperture, completes a single rotation every minute, and displays meticulous attention to finish and micro-mechanical detail.

The Bvlgari Bvlgari-Bvlgari Complications Tourbillon watch is presented in a 38mm case, made from either 18K white gold, or 18K yellow gold, each version being completed with an alligator strap joined with an 18K gold deployant buckle. The dials for these watches are models of intricacy, with a unique concentric circular decoration in the upper two-thirds of the dial, while the lower section, around the tourbillon window, shows off a contrasting Cotes de Geneve ribbed pattern; the steel tourbillon bridge is lovingly hand-chamfered, and supports a blued-steel seconds hand which is joined to the tourbillon carriage.
