Bvlgari Diagono Professional Rattrapante watch
The Bvlgari Diagono Professional Rattrapante watch is an impressive luxury timepiece that shows off the most prestigious complication in the chronograph repertoire---the split-seconds mechanism.  Also known as the "Rattrapante", this split-seconds chronograph mechanism involves two superimposed central chronograph hands.

In ordinary usage, these hands operate as one, in the manner of a typical chronograph.  However, by pressing a button for the split function, the lower hand stops while the primary hand continues onward.  This enables the timing of two independent events.  When it is no longer required, a second push of the button controlling the split-seconds hand causes it to catch up and reunite with its twin.  This split-seconds mechanism places considerable demands upon a skilled watchmaker, as it is considerably more intricate and complex than a standard chronograph mechanism.

The selfwinding movement inside the Bvlgari Diagono Professional Rattrapante watch offers a power-reserve of 42 hours; its Jaquet-based rattrapante module has been meticulously constructed for flawless performance.  As an additional sign of its excellence each of these Bvlgari movements has passed the 15-day examination of the Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres (COSC), demonstrating its superb precision under a wide range of positional and temperature variations.

With a balance wheel frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the Bvlgari Diagono Professional Rattrapante watch can measure elapsed time with a precision of 1/8 second; as an added feature, the precisely calibrated tachymetre bezel allows average rates of speed to be quickly calculated.  The fine decorative details of this elaborate Bvlgari movement can be admired through the exhibition sapphire caseback.

The Bvlgari Diagono Professional Rattrapante watch has the refined craftsmanship and exclusive materials to match its horological pedigree.  Available exclusively in 18K white or yellow gold which has been given a fine brushed finish, the 40mm case of this complicated Bvlgari timepiece is warranted to be water-resistant to 100 meters; the hand-sewn remborded alligator straps are completed by a luxurious deployant clasp in 18K gold.
