A Travel Timepiece Extraordinaire: The Carl F. Bucherer Patravi TravelTec GMT
The Carl F. Bucherer Patravi TravelTec GMT watch is an exceptional luxury timepiece for globetrotters, active global professionals, and anyone who finds themself travelling frequently, be it for pleasure or business. With its superb finish, impressive dimensions, and highly technical, yet organized appearance, the Traveltec GMT timepiece is currently one of the hottest models yet offered by the brand.

Inside the Carl F. Bucherer Patravi TravelTec GMT timepiece resides a self-winding movement which the Bucherer watchmakers have created specifically for the demands of those who switch between time zones with great frequency. The red 24-hour hand, which is set to the wearer's time zone of choice, indicates the time at home. By unscrewing the crown and selecting the proper position, the 12-hour hand can be advanced forwards or backwards to account for changes in local time; also extremely useful, the date can also go backwards as easily as it does forward, making transitions from East to West a simple matter. A push-piece at 10 o'clock controls the smaller inner 24-hour bezel, which can be set to keep track of a third time zone; a unique three-position setting on the button allows this bezel to be advanced either forward or backward, as well as set to a neutral position to prevent inadvertent operation. This ingenious mechanism is currently awaiting a patent.

In addition to its superb multi-timezone functionality, the Carl F. Bucherer Patravi TravelTec GMT watch also offers a chronograph function with both 12-hour and 30-minute totalizers, as well as a continual presentation of small seconds; thanks to a 28,800 vibrations per hour balance frequency, chronograph timing corresponds to a precise 1/8th of a second.

Carl F. Bucherer has lavished equally great attention to the aesthetic design of this watch. Composed of more than 70 individual components, this extraordinarily exacting case of the Patravi TravelTec GMT watch is crafted from stainless steel or 18K rose gold, and measures an authoritative 46.6mm in diameter. Despite the complexity of the case design, water resistance is assured to a depth of 50 meters. The black or silver dial presents the varied information clearly, yet impresses with superb finish and complex detailing. A casually elegant calfskin strap with a deployant clasp securely joins the watch to the wrist, with a massive and intricate bracelet being a popular alternative.
