Cartier has taken the traffic opportunity afforded by the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games to inaugurate three new boutiques within Beijing, China. The boutiques--located in the Olympic Commercial Zone, Wangfujing's Lotte Yintai Department Store, and Yintai Centre's Park Life in the Beijing's commercial business district--join the three existing Cartier stores already established in the bustling Chinese city. With its six well-positioned boutiques, Cartier is ideally positioned to take advantage of the rapidly burgeoning Asian demand for luxury goods.
Cartier has described the design philosophy of its new Beijing boutiques as a "neo-classical Bronze Concept". The floor spaces are characterized by light-colored woods and carpet which emphasize the impression of uncluttered open spaces. Cartier's acclaimed Panthere design is also an aesthetic influence on the concept and layouts of the boutiques.
