Chopard and Alberta Ferretti Light up the Cannes Film Festival 2008

PRESS RELEASE -- Chopard and Alberta Ferretti opened the Cannes Film Festival with an extraordinary showing at the traditional mounting the steps ritual, followed by an intimate and glamorous gala evening.

The famous red carpet of the Palais des Festivals witnessed a stunning expression of the combined creativity and sensitivity of Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele and Alberta Ferretti. Mounting the steps in exceptional style, Bar Rafaeli unveiled the jewellery-dress jointly conceived by the two designers, an exquisite example of red carpet couture. In a flurry of chiffon silks, sparkling with the fire of precious stones adorning the neckline and back of the dress, the gorgeous model delighted photographers with her radiant presence.

After the screening, the two women joined their guests on the Crystal Beach Chopard for a resolutely feminine evening. Surrounded by a silver and white lounge décor, the invitees sampled mediterranean delicatessen accompanied by a delicious Boizel champagne with a predestined name Cuvée Spéciale Joyau de France (“special Jewel of France”).

Friends and guests of these two outstanding creative talents included the stunning Cate Blanchett, Devon Aoki, french actress Vahina Giocante, Mischa Barton, Afef, Italian actress Laura Morante, Amira Casar, Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, Moran Atias, ballet dancer Eleonora Abbagnato, who appreciated the musical ambience created by the famous lady DJ who is also an actress and singer, Juliette Lewis. A renewed creative opportunity

Obviously delighted with this first shared endeavour, Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele and Alberta Ferretti have already agreed to pool their talents once again for the Venice Film Festival. They are already working on an exceptional new creation, which is still a fiercely guarded secret and will not be revealed until September in the City of the Doges.
