The Chronoswiss Timemaster watch has proven its metle in extreme adventures undertaken on sea and land by skipper Norbert Sedlacek and Olympic bobsledder and luger Susi Erdmann.
On March 15th, 2009, Norbert Sedlacek completed his sailing journey around the globe as part of the "Vendee Globe" race conducted from Les Sables d'Olonne off the French Atlantic coast. For the 126 days, 5 hours, 31minutes and 56 seconds of his journey, Sedlacek relied upon the Chronoswiss Chronomaster Timemaster 24 timepiece as part of his essential timekeeping equipment.
January's Arctic Challenge decathlon event in Canada provided a series of entirely different--but no less demanding challenges--for the Chronoswiss Timemaster 24 watch. Susi Erdmann undertook a variety of different sporting disciplines over the mercilessly cold and arduous landscape to include ice skating, mountain biking, cross country running, and a dogsled race.
Throughout the event, the Chronoswiss Timemaster 24 proved to be the ideal companion. The extra-long strap enabled Erdmann to wear the watch over bulky winter clothing, giving her instant access to the time without risking any exposure to the snow and bitter temperatures. Despite the harsh environment, legibility was effortless thanks to the brilliantly luminous Superluminova dial with its unambiguous 24-hour time display. The manual-winding Chronoswiss C.674 caliber proved an ideal "engine" to reliably power the timepiece, and it turned in a faultlessly reliable performance despite the incessant turbulence and jarring imparted to it by the Arctic Challenge.
