David Yurman Reinvented

Perhaps no other designer jeweler in the industry is as popular as David Yurman.  His jewelry has been worn by hundreds of A-List celebrities in the 25 years since its founding.  This year singer Melissa Etheridge wore a David Yurman pave tag necklace and lavender amethyst deco ring as she performed at the 79th Annual Academy Awards and former supermodel turned reality TV host Tyra Banks wore Yurman's Quattrefoil white moonstone diamond dangle earrings to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. David Yurman has also been a leading designer in thinking outside of the jewelry box by creating collections especially for men and kids.  Now, jewelry is no longer for just women.

David Yurman has a unique brand in that almost every piece of jewelry, every necklace, bracelet, ring, cuff link and pendant, in every collection, features the signature twisted cable rope design.  While many designers separate their collections based on design differences, David Yurman tends to separate his based on material such as yellow gold, silver, silver with diamonds and pearls.  In addition, his jewelry is less about the ice bling (in other words, the diamonds) and more about showcasing the material.  While many designers use jewelry as a medium to show off diamonds and the material becomes less important, David’s jewelry shows off the sterling silver or yellow gold and uses diamonds very sparingly, literally as detail accents.  Because of the popularity and high demand of David Yurman jewelry, his work is copied, counterfeited, and faked all over the world – in fact, his work will turn black in the grooves of the twisted rope cable, making this an excellent way to determine the authenticity of his jewelry.  We look forward to seeing how David Yurman will continue to reinvent his signature cable design in his future collections for years to come.
