The Glamour Role of Jewelry this Holiday Season
Jan 7, 2008
In a recent ELLE weekly update, one of the featured stories highlighted jewelry - not as an accessory to your holiday frock, but as the main eye candy. Over 30 individual pieces from several top jewelry websites were included with a range of jewelry styles represented. Styles included classic, sparkling diamonds; art deco rings, geometric architectural bracelets from the 40s, 50s and 60s; futuristic mod; haute couture; vintage and vintage inspired; and 70s inspired (think chunky, gaudy, and colorful).
One of the featured pieces was this David Yurman yellow gold cross necklace with what looks like a citrine gemstone at the intersection. Known for his amazing creations in sterling silver, David Yurman has been branching out recently and creating equally impressive and high quality jewelry of 18k gold and gold and silver mixes. The braid-like pattern on each arm of the cross flows inward to the gemstone intersection. With its old-world, medieval style, this David Yurman cross pendant necklace would go well with the heavier fabrics of fall and winter and with the light colored clothing of spring.
