Swiss jeweler Furrer Jacot has been creating sophisticated and luxurious wedding bands of a simple, refined elegance since 1858. They have shifted the conventional idea of a wedding band and the traditional idea that men do not care about jewelry.
Furrer Jacot has had to overcome two main obstacles. First, they had to create appeal for men's wedding bands in an industry targeted at women and women's engagement rings. In fact, it may have seemed like a big business risk to enter a market in which the primary target audience has traditionally spent money on a ring for someone else. Second, and more importantly,
Furrer Jacot has had to learn to market jewelry to men who traditionally do not buy or wear conventional jewelry, except perhaps for wristwatches. Being founded in the middle of the 1800s with such rigid Victorian era social customs and traditions, it is amazing Furrer Jacot successfully entered the 20th century. Luckily for us, Furrer Jacot has enjoyed incredible success and may be the leading jewelry designer of wedding bands for men. If Furrer Jacot has not officially been awarded this title, they have definitely earned this title unofficially.
Furrer Jacot is leading the way in men's rings designs. They have been ahead of David Yurman and Roberto Coin yet are likely experiencing an upswing in success with the recent launch of the subtle yet suave men's collections of these two luxury jewelry powerhouses. It is likely that these men's collections took inspiration - even if just some - from the Swiss powerhouse. The interesting, geometric patterns, the use of smooth and polished surfaces and the combining of metals make Furrer Jacot wedding bands years ahead of currently available men's jewelry. Like the wedding bands seen here, Furrer Jacot rings are diverse with masculine designs. One wedding band has a leaf motif (perfect for today's environmental and earth friendly man); the second has a middle ring of lustrous rose gold between polished white gold (fitting for a man who likes diversity); and, the third band has a key and lock design with a raised, polished middle section (ideal for the rugged type of man). With such a vast creative talent, Furrer Jacot surely has a men's wedding band to suit every style preference.
