The upscale Girard-Perregaux boutique on New York City's Madison Avenue will have a small part to play in the upcoming movie "Did You Hear About the Morgans?", directed by Marc Lawrence. Set for release in December 2009, the film stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant as a statusy New York Couple who must enter a witness-protection program after witnessing a murder. The financial status of the couple is effectively conveyed during a scene in which Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker have a conversation in front of the Girard-Perregaux boutique, whose window displays a large image of the ww.tc Chronograph watch in rose gold.
The set-up and filming of the scene took place on April 9th and 10th, with Parker and Grant using the Girard-Perregaux boutique as an impromptu dressing room. In lieu of claiming the customary site fee, President and CEO of Girard-Perregaux Ron Jackson asked that the production team donate an equivalent amount to the Dempsey Challenge, an athletic event dedicated to promoting awareness of cancer issues and raising funds for the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing. The team gladly complied with the request of Mr. Jackson, who will himself take part in the Dempsey Challenge in the Fall of 2009.
