Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 Jackpot Tourbillon Watch Sells for $625,000 in Las Vegas

No sooner did it arrive in Las Vegas, than it was gone.  The Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 Jackpot Tourbillon watch, one of the most talked about--and expensive--complicated watches of 2007, received its first delivery to Wynn & Co. Jewelry.  Mere hours after its delivery, the world's first Jackpot Tourbillon watch offered for sale was united with a delighted buyer for $625,000.

The unprecedented Girard-Perregaux watch combines a tourbillon with a unique three-reel slot machine complication that pays homage to the famous "Liberty Bell" slot machine; complete with a miniature slot lever that can be actuated on demand, the watch chimes each time the reel stops spinning.  Due to the technical challenges involved in making this timepiece, Girard-Perregaux expects to deliver fewer than 40 Vintage 1945 Jackpot Tourbillon watches worldwide over the next four years.  Each watch is accompanied by a magnificent velvet-lined lacquered presentation box that includes a drawer with customized Girard-Perregaux cards, dice, and poker chips.
