Girard Perregaux Vintage 1945 Jackpot Tourbillon White Gold Watch

It somehow looks less appropriate in white versus rose gold, as more traditional gold tones always remind you of the glitz and glam associated with the gambling centers of the world. White gold does however look more elegant and possibly less intimidating. Regardless, if you are the owner of a Girard Perregaux Jackpot Tourbillon watch, you have nothing to lose but the time you waste playing with your novelty rich timepiece. This is the only mechanical watch in the world with a slot machine complication. Girard Perregaux is very proud of their 502 piece GPFAY08 manually wound movement that has a total of 125 possible slot machine combinations. The slot machine is also combined with a chime mechanism.

The timepiece is a reminder that machines such as modern day slot machines, or any gambling apparatus for that matter, used to all be mechanical. The original slot machines were invented in America in the late 19th century, and for at least 75 years were mostly all mechanical. Today’s slot machines are all computers, most of which don’t even use coins. The Girard Perregaux Vintage 1945 Jackpot Tourbillon is a sort of romantic reminder of era’s past. In addition to the slot machine, the watch also houses a tourbillon complication with Girard Perregaux’s signature bridge style, in gold. The case itself is 43mm wide and a thick 17.3mm deep. It is a special timepiece for serious enthusiasts and too precious to be worn on a daily basis.
