Girard-Perregaux Watches Commemorate Legendary Monte-Carlo Rally Wins

Girard-Perregaux has chosen to pay homage to two notable Monte-Carlo Rally victories, with limited edition watches specially designed in commemoration.  
The first, the Girard-Perregaux "Chronograph Monte-Carlo 1965" watch, is dedicated to the 1965 victory of Timo Mäkinen and Paul Easter in their Mini Cooper, who emerged victorious over a field of competitors, many of whom abandoned the race due to the horrendous weather conditions that engulfed the event.  Crafted from stainless steel and fitted to a calfskin strap, the watch features a retro-inspired design with round chronograph pushers and a domed sapphire crystal.  Produced in a limited edition of 250 pieces, it features a caseback engraved with the car model, its plate number, and the names of the drivers.  The black dial also displays a red "Monte-Carlo 1965" inscription over the 12-hour counter.

Produced in an edition of 500 pieces, the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Chronograph "Monte Carlo 1984" watch is devoted to the 1984 triumph of Walter Röhrl and Christian Geistdörfer at the wheel of their Audi Quattro No. 1.  The heavy snow on the roads was no match for the Audi Quattro all-wheel drive system, and in fact, Audi cars won all three top prizes in this rally.  Presented in titanium with a rubber strap, and rubber elements on the crown and bezel, this Girard-Perregaux watch has a carbon fiber dial accented by distinctive sporty colors and a white "Monte-Carlo 1984" inscription.
