By Ariel Adams for ViaLuxe.comThe Sport Evolution line from Glashutte Original has probably been my favorite series of watches from the German watch maker. A new technology in some of the watches has upped the sporty character, and is in all the “Impact” Sport Evolution watches. Inside the case around the movement is a red compound the acts like a shock absorber and actually holds the movement in the case. You can see the four “impact” zones around the dial that hold the dial and movement in place. Glashutte Original claims that the compound can absorb up to 60% of an impact to the watch. The Sport Evolution Impact Panorama Date watch is in a 46mm wide steel case with a matte black finish. Inside the watch is the automatic Glashutte Original Caliber 39-47 movement that has the time and a big (Panorama) date complication that is on two discs. Large squared club hands on the Sport Evolution series have always been easy to read, especially against the applied hour markers. With the black tones against red and white trim, the watch is sporty and aggressive imbued with German watch making quality. The Sport Evolution Impact Panorama Date watch is available with a rubber strap or a woven Trieste strap. Notice the polished screws against the black case for a unique look. Overall a standout timepiece with a fantastic functional character. Ariel Adams publishes the popular luxury watch review site aBlogtoRead.com.
