Gurhan showed off the 2008 spring collection at The Squash Blossom, a fine jewelry retailer, in Vail, Colorado. The four day event gave locals of Vail an opportunity to meet and talk with an artist representative of the luxury jewelry company, known for their signature designs and hand-hammered craftsmanship of pure 24 karat gold jewelry.
Amy Logan, manager of The Squash Blossom, said, "The collections are rich in luster and movement. Transitioning effortlessly from day to night, these styles are fashionable, yet timeless and distinctive." The Squash Blossom has a second retail store in Colorado Springs. She went to say, "Full of distinction and color, the trunk show is a wonderful way to introduce new additions to your Gurhan collection."
Orhan Gurhan, designer and company founder, takes great pride in creating with 24k pure gold in a time where many designers are creating in 18 karat yellow gold, the diluted, yellow version of gold. Two other factors that make his jewelry truly unique are that all of his designs are 100 percent handmade and that he - and he, alone - makes all the prototypes for his designs.
The Gurhan trunk show hosted by The Squash Blossom featured many one-of-a-kind pieces, including ancient bronze antiquities from the Museum collection and turn-of-century Roman collectibles from the Micro Mosaic collection, in addition to his amazing Gurhan jewelry.
