Basel 2008: Hublot Big Bang Classic Watch
Back
Apr 9, 2008
The Hublot Big Bang Classic watch joins the dynamic Big Bang collection for 2008, enriching this popular line with a slightly more subtle interpretation. As with its siblings, the Hublot concept of 'fusion' carries over in the construction of the Big Bang Classic watch; a range of cutting edge materials are skilfully combined to produce an exciting horological object.
The Hublot Big Bang Classic watch features a case crafted from zirconium; the bezel is made from vertically grained ceramic, and displays 6 H-shaped titanium screws. Lugs are manufactured from black composite resin, and the Hublot strap is in rubber. The casual, dynamic aesthetic is carried over onto the dial, which is made from pure carbon and accented by rhodiumized applique hour figures, and skeleton hands. A flat sapphire crystal ensures optimum protection from scratches; thanks to an interior anti-reflective coating, legibility is excellent from all angles. Water resistance of this Hublot watch is 100 meters.
The Hublot Big Bang Classic utilizes the HUB1100 caliber, a self-winding movement with a 42-hour power reserve, and a balance frequency of 28,800 vph. The bridges are satin finished with polished edges, while the central rotor is crafted from PVD-coated tungsten carbide for excellent winding efficiency.
