Hublot Watch Factory Construction Moves Forward

On September 4th, Swiss watchmaker Hublot celebrated the completion of the basic structure of a new factory, where a new generation of Hublot watch movements will eventually be produced.  On hand was Hublot CEO Jean-Claude Biver, who gave a presentation of the future plans for the site, and related development projects.

The Hublot building is located in Nyon, in the Vuarpilliere region.  The factory, which is planned to encompass 5000 square meters of space across six levels will unite the departments of Research and Development and administration with all the necessary operations to design, manufacture, assemble and finish a whole family of movements--including specialty complications.  Already, the main component of the watchmaker's factory is nearly complete, which should allow the installation of machinery by February of 2009.  Also in the state of construction is an integral daycare area which will accommodate both the children of Hublot employees and visitors to Hublot.

Regarding the progressing construction project, Jean-Claude Biver made this enthusiastic proclamation: "By 2010, our objective is to produce 5,000 to 8,000 movements entirely manufactured in these premises, and to reach a production of 20,000 movements by 2012.  In addition, we also want to train young watchmakers, and that this building becomes a space which promotes learning and liberates creative energies!"
