IWC Aquatimer Split Chrono The IWC Aquatimer Split Minute Chronograph is the most technologically advanced dive watch produced by IWC. While displaying the same rugged, angular good looks and easily read luminous indications of the other models within the Aquatimer collection, the Split Minute Chronograph also incorporates a unique and ingenious complication that provides additional functionality to the already impressive characteristics inherent in all IWC dive watches.

The IWC Aquatimer Split Minute Chronograph watch is a perfect embodiment of the passion for engineering solutions that has always defined IWC within the realm of elite watchmakers. Incorporated into the heart of the automatic-winding 79470 calibre is an innovative split-minute function which enables the diver to more easily measure critical dive times.

When the rocker button on the left side of the case is depressed, a flyback clamp stops a slender secondary minute hand that is ordinarily concealed beneath the main minute hand. This feature allows the amount of elapsed time to be easily comprehended; when no longer required, another push of the rocker button causes the split-minute hand to instantaneously return to its usual position beneath the primary minute hand. This button can be depressed underwater, to the full 120-meter depth rating of the watch.

A supplementary internal rotating dive bezel--a design element shared by the entire Aquatimer collection--enables a conventional reading of decompression or ascent times, should an alternative to the split-minute hand be desired. Beyond this, the IWC 79470 calibre also features a 44-hour power reserve, and displays the day of the week as well as the date. Available exclusively in titanium, on either the remarkable IWC bracelet which allows exceptionally easy adjustment, or a lightweight and strong rubber strap with a matching titanium buckle, the IWC Aquatimer Split Minute Chronograph is sure to please dive professionals and mechanical watch aficionados alike.
