IWC Schaffhausen has presented a limited edition variation of its popular Double Chronograph watch.  This new timepiece, which carries the Reference IW371803, commemorates the German national football team.

Presented in stainless steel, the new limited edition IWC Double Chronograph showcases a brushed stainless steel case which measures 44mm in diameter.  Beneath the curved, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the white dial displays a number of subtle elements that mark it as unique, including a distinctive 30-minutes counter at 12 o'clock and the chronograph central and split-seconds hands whose red and yellow coloration evoke the colors of the German flag.  Other characteristics, including the hour and minute hands share the design of timepieces in IWC's Pilot's Watch Classic and Spitfire collections.  Water resistance is rated at 60 meters.  

Movement in this timepiece is the same as that found in other IWC Double Chronograph models.  The self-winding IWC 79230 caliber has a balance wheel which beats at a frequency of 28,800 alternations per hour, allowing timing precision to 1/8 second.  In addition to the chronograph with its complex split-seconds function, and 12-hour and 30-minute totalizers, the mechanism also offers a day and date display which can both be quickly adjusted via the crown.  Power reserve is 44 hours.

Five-hundred examples of this special IWC chronograph watch will be produced.  Each timepiece is fitted with a fabric strap and a stainless steel buckle engraved with the IWC brand insignia.
