Water resistant to an impressive 120 meters, the 42.5 mm case of the IWC Ingenieur Chronograph is a daunting yet elegant sculpture, which performs an important task: to protect the precise chronograph mechanism within, the IWC caliber 79350.

With automatic winding, and boasting a power reserve of 44 hours, this movement is capable of measuring time intervals of up to 30 minutes in duration. A tachymeter flange around the periphery of the dial gives this chronograph another function---the ability to show average speed, production rates, etc.--with accuracy to within 1/8 of a second.
