IWC Schaffhausen timepieces and the Make-A-Wish Foundation France, the international organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions, jointly hosted a charity dinner to raise funds for sick children around the world at the Park Hyatt Place Vendome in Paris. The guest of honor for the night was the newly named IWC ambassador Tony Parker, point guard of the San Antonio Spurs.
However, the real honor and highlight of the night was the fact that the amount of funds raised at this year's dinner, about $289,453, surpassed last year's total of $159,199. The charity dinner included an auction of which IWC donated an exclusive
Portuguese Chrono-Automatic with Tony Parker's signature engraved on the case back.
Other sought after items included signed jerseys from various
San Antonio Spurs basketball players and soccer players David Beckham, Thierry Henry, Franck Ribery and Davis Trezeguet; Amelie Mauresmo's tennis racquet and a trip to New York to see an NBA basketball game.
